Rain, rain, go away! Fido just wants to dig and play! The lyrics may not be the same but there’s no doubt that Fido feels that exact way when it starts raining. The rain may be a blessing but it certainly does limit the amount of fun our furry friends can have outside.
What’s more with all the energy they accumulate during the day, it’s important that they get a bit of exercise in every day regardless of the weather. Fortunately, there’s no limit to what you can cook up these days especially if it has to do with indoor exercise. Read on to learn more.
#1 – Treadmill
Treadmills are great for dog owners who can’t run or can’t run as far as their dog. It’s a safe (as long as you know how to do it!), low impact way to exercise your dog, especially when you can’t go outside. You can buy a dog treadmill, or use a human one.
#2 – Hide ‘N’ Seek
Dogs love this game and it can wear them out pretty quick because it uses their brain and their energy. Just distract your dog with some treats or a toy and then go hide. Call him to come find you! (You’re practicing come while he gets exercise!!) You can add to the difficulty by hiding behind semi-closed doors and having more than one person hide – he has to find the right person!
So, it turns out that the video of the cuties running on a treadmill is actually a very viable exercise idea! These are all great ideas worth considering especially if you find yourself in a situation where you need to get some exercise in as well. But wait, there’s more!
